Even though the Tigers had shown some better performances in 2024, Friday night's outcome brought them back to their worst days in the previous seasons.

During the coverage on Fox League, Michael Ennis highlighted that the Tigers could only manage to run for 220m throughout an entire half of football — as a team.

“What we witnessed was an absolute diabolical second half performance from Wests Tigers who have now lost nine on the spin,” remarked Ennis.

Even though the Tigers had shown some signs of improvement during the year 2024, the result on Friday night dragged them back into their worst days that they have experienced in past seasons.

Despite some better showings in 2024, the result on Friday night brought the Tigers back to their darkest days of the past few seasons.

"It was absolute diabolical second half from Wests Tigers side now that have lost nine straight," noted Ennis.

Despite showing slightly better performances in 2024, Friday night was a flashback to the darkest days the club has seen over the past few seasons for the Tigers.

“This will be up there with one of their worst performances in a bad six or seven year period, especially in that second half.” Graham said that although the Tigers had some injuries, there can’t be excuses. “How much sympathy can you give?” Graham asked. “Not even from people like us — from the fans. How much sympathy can they afford their team?” Yvonne Sampson replied: “When do you get empathy fatigue?”

"'It’s just so far below par,' Ennis said." Graham argued that it once again put Marshall himself under the microscope after he went on a family holiday to Fiji during the side’s bye week.

Marshall had come under criticism when the Tigers lost eight games in a row before the bye week but responded by defending his stance during the week and disclosing “I tell my players that family comes first and football second. Therefore, during this break, spend time with your family. If I am advocating for that philosophy, then I must lead by example as well.”

Graham brought up whether it's a correlation or a causation after their worst performance of the season.

Sampson concluded: The working bye may be the way to go in the future.

While not directly questioned about the mid-season trip during the press conference, Marshall mentioned that the team had come out freshened up. He expressed frustration at having to say the same thing every week.

He made the observation that possessing just 20 per cent of the ball in the latter half and “making schoolboy errors was unacceptable” might force him into changing personnel.

“If the actions don’t change, then the players have to change — it’s unacceptable,” he stated, with no excuse offered.

Regarding the supporters, Marshall commented: "I pity them having to observe that surrender in the second half. I genuinely do, I feel sorry for them. And I can picture how exasperating it must be pouring your hard earned into it but simultaneously, we're on an upward trajectory of advancement.

In response to tonight, Marshall said it was "terrible" but recognized the progress made and emphasized the importance of staying committed to building a successful future: "We're definitely on a path for building for our future that we need to stick to."
